PWD to PWD
PWD'S reaching out to other PWD's for a community of support and assistance
I'm interested in individual stories about the experience of disability. If you're a PWD, you have a story. It can be from any perspective, about anything you've experienced, positive, negative or anywhere in between. Poetry, prose, scientific articles or any other form you might wish to write in is fine. We need to reach out to one another, too often we bear our lot alone. This is an opportunity to reach out and find strength and acceptance among a community. I'm a left leg amputee since the age of 21. Mine was a traumatic injury that left me lingering between life and death, I chose life with some help from the divine and a few good doctors. At 59 I'm adjusted to my reality but it was a journey - through a dark tunnel to find the light on the other side where I give thanks now for challenges that led to a new, more powerful sense of self. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
